Vase Oiseau Grotesque is handmade by French-born, Mallorca based Artist Marion De Raucourt.
“Grotesque” is a series of stoneware vases, where each piece becomes a grotesque personification, somewhere between character and animal. The assembly of volumes, inspired by post-Cubist architectural principles, divides space into distinct planes. The surfaces of the vases are decorated with figurative bas-reliefs. Among them, the Grotesque Bird Vase stands out as a key piece of the series: inspired by the toucan, its body is adorned with bas-reliefs of other tropical animals, creating a form of camouflage that blurs the line between creature and environment.
